    Position Purpose:
    Reporting to the Manager of the Data Development team, part of the larger Health Informatics group, the data engineer applies their technical expertise to meet the needs of the department and Steward Health Care Network (SHCN)


    Key Responsibilities:
    ETL/AutomationDesign configurable data process flows with full automation Develop ETL processes for data loading and data extraction Schedule ETL processes for full process automationData EngineeringResponsible for data analysis to support building data processes and reportingDesign useful and accurate data marts that meet requirementsApply SQL skills when designing and building data marts and data flowsQualityEstablish and utilize QC processes to ensure data integrityIncorporate standard error logging and alerts to ensure data is loaded as expectedDocumentation Create and maintain clear documentationEducation: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics or related experienceYears of Experience: 5+ years of database related work 2+ years of focus on healthcare data

    Specialized Knowledge:

    Knowledge of healthcare dataExperience using relational databases, SQL Server experience preferredExperience using ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica, etc.)Strong SQL programming skillsExperience with scripting languages (PowerShell, R, Python, etc.)Experience automating data flowsExperience with Health Catalyst tools preferred, but not requiredDeep understanding of database structures and data design.
