- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to established procedures on basic clinical equipment such as thermometers, EKG machines, and infusions pumps.
- Respond in a timely fashion to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain basic clinical equipment.
- Address and prioritize emergency calls for the immediate repair of basic biomedical equipment via the Engineering Department's Computerized Maintenance Management software, by phone, and/or by email.
- Inspect and document newly purchased basic clinical equipment according to the hospital's policy and procedures and work with other team members to identify and assign proper future PM tasks in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
- Accompany the Biomed Supervisor, or higher-level technicians, on repair requests or preventive maintenance of mid-level complexity clinical equipment when called upon.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or a closely related field; OR completion of a related technical school program; OR a combination of experience preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required and must be maintained throughout the duration of employment in the position.
- A minimum of one year of general electromechanical troubleshooting experience required.
