    Job purpose:


    The Director of Human Resources works closely with the Executive Director, Associate Executive Director, Supervisors and the Board HR Committee to further the strategic goals of the organization and ensure all legal compliance and oversight over organization policies and practices.

    This role supports and supervises the staff support team consisting of the Finance Manager and Office Manager and ensures that they are meeting their objectives and supported to fulfill programmatic needs.

    They will work closely with the team of other directors to ensure consistency and equity across the organization to support, challenge and encourage one another.

    We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to the success of our youth and young adults, our programs and the organization and displays sound judgment.


    Must have a strong equity lens with a commitment to collaborative practices and transparent communication for the sake of clarity and consistency.


    Duties and key responsibilities:
    Oversees and Manages the Human Resources Function of the organization
    Oversees full staff cycle including job creation, job descriptions, recruitment, hiring, onboarding, staff accommodations, performance evaluation, and offboarding.
    Communicates changes in staffing
    Oversees and works with employees and supervisors around leave and accommodations
    Responsible for any employee verifications, income verifications, and other requests
    Supports supervisors and all staff navigating conflict, professional development opportunities and coaching opportunities
    Supports and consults for organization culture, team building, staff development opportunities and org structure changes
    Manages Benefits Enrollment, contracts and HR related vendors
    Oversees, tracks, and maintains mandatory trainings, background checks, and other professional development opportunities
    In collaboration with org leadership, maintains, writes, and ensures implementation of org policies, handbooks, etc.
    Ensures that the org remains in compliance with employment laws and regulations
    Is available, listens and responds to staff concerns, suggestions or various needs as they arise.
    Provides support and responsible for large strategic planning projects that could include total rewards package, performance planning, workforce planning, succession planning
    Supervise and Support Staff Support Team
    Provides direct supervision, oversight, training and support to assigned staff
    Takes the lead when challenges arise or there are opportunities for improvement
    Oversees necessary accountabilities for dual controls, backup team staffing, time and attendance, performance, and staff development
    Ensures staff has the resources, trainings, and tools necessary to perform job functions
    Is responsive and available to fill gaps or provide assistance when the need arises
    Approves and oversees staff support teams budget, timesheets, approvals, payroll runs, additional compensation, etc.
    Develops and implements departmental budget
    Organizational Leadership
    Participates fully in all relevant meetings and committees including but not limited to all staff meetings, supervision meetings, trainings and others
    Listens and communicates effectively between staff and organizational leadership and provides assistance and insight that supports the overall work and mission of the organization
    Collaborates with leadership to understand the organization goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

    Desired Qualifications:
    Commitment to the vision and goals of CHOOSE 180
    A strong team builder who can foster a healthy work environment for their team to support one another, ask questions, solve problems and strengthen their skills and abilities
    Can provide direct and timely feedback when needed
    2-4 years of human resources experience
    APH, PHR or SHRM-CP certifications or higher preferred
    1-2 years of supervision or peer support experience
    Experience working with or in the criminal legal system
    Ability to communicate CHOOSE 180s mission accurately, effectively and inspirationally
    Entrepreneurial and results-oriented with ability to anticipate/respond to changing

    circumstances/priorities
    Strong interpersonal and customer care skills with ability to communicate successfully through multiple media channels
    Exemplary verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills

    Working conditions:


    This position is required to work some weekend days as well as attend after-hours events, and to be available for consultation when needed.

    In addition, this position may be called upon and must be capable of compassionate de-escalation and crisis intervention involving people working through trauma.


    Compensation and benefits:
    CHOOSE 180 is committed to providing employees with a competitive salary and benefits package. The salary for this position is $87,200.
