    On a molecular scale, our deep understanding of the intricate relationships between receptors, their associated proteins, and their distributions in specific cell types and brain regions enables us to precisely direct medicines to the neural circuits underlying disease pathophysiology.


    The Medical Science Liaison is responsible for developing and managing scientific, medically and clinically appropriate working relationships with clinical investigators, key institutions/centers of excellence, scientific leaders, and professional societies within the fields of epilepsy, psychiatry, and pain management within their assigned territory.

    For earlier stage programs (Phase 1, Phase 2 POC), the primary responsibility will be supporting the clinical development team and Rapport clinical trials, as well as similar support for Ph 2b/3 studies as well.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • In collaboration with Clinical Development:
    • Identify external experts as potential investigators for clinical studies.
    • Assist clinical with site initiation visits providing medical presentations on the science of the product in development.
    • Have a full understanding of the clinical study protocols and assist in responding to protocol related questions as needed.
    • Establish and maintain regular dialogue with study sites to identify any potential study related issues that need to be addressed and then communicate these to the Clinical Development team in a timely manner.
    • Participate in investigator meetings as requested by Clinical Development
    • Develop strategic alliances/working partnerships with clinical centers of excellence.
    • Develop strategic alliances/working partnerships with national professional associations representing epilepsy and other Rapport therapeutic areas.
    • Regional strategic planning, development, and achievement of departmental objectives

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5-10 years of medical and/or scientific affairs experience
    • Position Level: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
    • Professional medical or related scientific degree (PhD, DVM, PharmD, MD, RN) with clinical and/or research experience in epilepsy and other Rapport Therapeutic areas. Experience in psychiatry and/or pain a plus.
    • Possesses focused expertise which enables the ideal candidate to be a subject matter expert on specific scientific/clinical issues, develop strategy, lead scientific/research collaborations, and execute plans to advance the business objectives.
    • Must be a dynamic leader - able to foster collaboration with top regional and national scientific leaders and medical societies within the Rapport Therapeutic areas.
    • Must be an excellent speaker/presenter in front of a small or large group.
    • Demonstrated ability to be successful in small entrepreneurial environment.
    • Must be willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
