- Provide expertise in and perform actions related to NIST SP revision 5) and agency-specific security controls, as well as concepts of defense in depth, layered security controls, and zero trust architecture.
- Assist with risk management activities such as developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, processes, and controls and assessing the effectiveness of each.
- Work with stakeholders to prepare and maintain required artifacts such as system security plans, incident response procedures, training materials, Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes, and associated documentation.
- Work with stakeholders to develop a baseline snapshot of organizational systems' normal functionality, including routine business operations as well as controls, policies, procedures, and regulations in place.
- Use tools to monitor a zero trust environment, such as security information and event management (SIEM), security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR), endpoint detection and response (EDR), data loss prevention (DLP), and identity management.
- Collect and maintain data needed to meet system cybersecurity reporting; continuously validate the organization's security posture against baseline to ensure compliance.
- Interpret patterns of noncompliance to determine their impact on levels of risk and/or overall effectiveness of the enterprise's cybersecurity program and escalate risks using established procedures.
- Ensure that plans of actions and milestones or remediation plans are in place for vulnerabilities identified during incident response, risk assessments, and/or audits.
- 4-year college degree in Computer Science, or related field, and 2 years of practical experience or 5 years if practical experience in lieu of a college degree. Specifically seeking experience working on cybersecurity and/or risk management activities.
- Experience using cybersecurity and zero trust tools and processes, such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, DLP, other vulnerability management, and/or identity management tools.
- Experience demonstrating strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for cybersecurity.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance.
- Knowledge of NIST and FISMA security guidelines.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
- Two years of federal security support experience
- Demonstrated experience with the following: Tenable, Splunk
