Role Description
This is a full-time 3rd shift role as a Spotting & Shuttling Driver. As a Spotting & Shuttling Driver, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of spotting and moving trucks within the yard. This is an on-site role located in Kenosha, WI. The duties include:
Safe Driving: Operate spotting and shuttle vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
Spotting Operations: Maneuver spotting trucks to move trailers within the yard or distribution center, positioning them for loading and unloading.
Shuttle Services: Transport trailers or containers between different facilities, such as warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing plants, following predetermined routes.
Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the spotting and shuttle vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and other drivers to coordinate movements and ensure efficient operations.
Documentation: Complete required paperwork, such as logbooks, inspection reports, and delivery manifests, accurately and in a timely manner.
Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to customers and clients, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during transportation.
Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to all transportation regulations, including hours-of-service rules, weight limits, and hazardous materials regulations, to ensure compliance and safety.
Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve logistical challenges or issues that may arise during transportation, such as traffic delays or mechanical problems, with minimal disruption to operations.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on spotting and shuttle vehicles, such as refueling, checking fluid levels, and cleaning, to keep them in optimal condition.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other drivers and logistics personnel to achieve company goals and objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Reliability:Excellent attendance, dependable and punctuality are essential for this role.
