    JOB DESCRIPTION:


    The Nursing Director Perioperative Services has accountability for fiscal, operational, clinical and administrative leadership for the areas within their specific scope.

    This leader will work with the CNO and other nursing leaders to assure that the appropriate human, fiscal and material resources are available to provide optimal patient care delivery.

    At the direction of the CNO, this leader will provide key communications to staff and stakeholders on nursing activities within the division of nursing

    Key accountability areas include:
    Direct supervision of the nursing perioperative manager team, and nurse educators within the service line. Key areas of responsibility include Pre-Op, PACU, Endoscopy, Operating Rooms, Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), Comfort Zone and OR Scheduling. This leader provides strategic and operational direction for evidence based workforce planning and patient care. This leader has accountability to work within partnerships with patients and families within the UVMMC.

    The Director of Perioperative Services will work with other stakeholders and the UVMMC Nursing Professional Governance structure to advance the strategic priorities of Nursing and the organization.

    This leader will work with collaborative leadership partners from quality, anesthesia and surgery to provide strategic and operational direction to advance surgical services.


    EDUCATION:
    BSN required, Masters in Nursing or related field preferred. Demonstrated commitment to life-long learning required. Active licensure, (in good standing) as an RN in the State of Vermont required


    EXPERIENCE:
    Five years nursing leadership experience.

    Experience in integrated health systems in an academic medical center preferred.

    Experience at the director level in Healthcare setting within Nursing preferred.
