    Summary:

    Cigna Healthcare is seeking a proactive, strategic, self-starter communications professional to join the communications team. This person will lead the development and implementation of integrated communications plans aligned to Cigna Healthcare's Strategy & Solutions business.

    This individual will lead executive communications and provide proactive strategic communications consultation at the leadership level, as well as lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications plans for the Strategy & Solutions business. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the execution of a wide variety of communications activities – including public relations/earned media for product/solutions launches and other initiatives, as well as strategic internal/employee communications and leadership presentations for internal and external audiences – with the goals of informing and accelerating business strategies that support growth; and engaging and aligning employees around The Cigna Group's mission, growth strategy, and priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead communications strategy, development, and implementation for leadership and the broader U.S. Employer Strategy & Solutions business.
    • Lead executive communications for the Senior Vice President, U.S. Commercial Strategy Officer, Cigna Healthcare.
    • Provide proactive counsel to key internal leaders and stakeholders on communication solutions that help achieve business objectives.
    • Work in partnership with The Cigna Group's enterprise media relations team to develop media outreach strategies with key stakeholder input/approval regarding product or solutions launches, proactive media campaigns, and leadership interview opportunities – and work with key internal stakeholders to create timely responses to media inquiries.
    • Lead the development and execution of strategic, timely, informative and engaging internal and external leadership communications activities and tactics, such as town halls, leadership meetings, internal and external leadership presentations, talking points, leadership messages, video messages, web content, organizational announcements, and external thought leadership promotion / PR opportunities, among others.
    • Manage the development and execution of communications plans for assigned projects or specific segments of major projects.
    • Use innovative communications channels, engage, and motivate employees about business projects and priorities.
    • Collaborate with internal departments/teams to develop integrated, omni-channel communication activities and materials.
    • Identify appropriate opportunities to highlight Strategy & Solutions leaders and messaging in other Cigna Business communications.
    • Ensure deadlines are met and consistent, appropriate processes are followed to obtain final approvals from subject matter experts, project leaders and compliance/legal team.
    • Builds strong relationships across the business/leadership, Communications team, as well as with key partners such as Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance.
    • Monitor and evaluate results of communications programs, using specific metrics to track progress and insights for continuous improvement.

    Ideal candidates will offer:

    • Strong writing and editing skills a must; ability to write for a variety of audiences across multiple communication channels/vehicles, including print, online, broadcast and social media.
    • Strong executive communications and external media relations experience a must.
    • Strategic, proactive team member – a self-starter and quick learner – who possesses strong verbal communications, with a proven ability to present and clearly/succinctly articulate strategies and recommendations – including the ability to translate highly complex, technical content into concise stories.
    • Bachelor's degree in communications or related discipline and at least 10 years' experience in corporate setting/agency, with expertise in internal and external communications, including public relations.
    • Strong track record of developing and executing strategic communications plans that connect to core business objectives.
    • Team player, collaborative with a thoughtful and influential personal leadership style, including the ability to develop strong working relationships and provide communications counsel to senior leaders, including C-suite executives.
    • Ability to jump into virtually any scenario – including navigating ambiguity – demonstrating good judgment as well as tact and discretion to work with employees at all levels.
    • Excellent organizational skills and a record of success in juggling multiple projects and deadlines and working in a highly-matrixed, deadline-sensitive, client services-oriented environment.
    • Influence and coordination skills to work with other internal areas and outside vendors to meet deadlines; experience managing agency relationships.
    • Familiarity with issues management and crisis communications.
    • Experience in project management, developing detailed project plans and schedules.
    • Experience with event planning.
    • Strong creative skills, including with visual communications.
    • Experience in using/identifying technology tools for measurement and reporting.
    • Comfortable working in a virtual environment – and across time zones.
    • Some travel required.
    If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 107, ,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

    This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
