    Position Summary:


    Under the direction of the New York Proton Center ("NYPC") Chief Financial Officer, the Procurement Manager maintains direct, hands-on involvement in projects, analysis, and executive level communications to improve operational efficiency and support company objectives as related to procurement operations.

    Provides procurement expertise to improve processes and performance and coordinates all aspects of NYPC's procurement operations.

    The Manager is also responsible for the development, maintenance, and improvement of project management for the procurement programs and contributes to the strategic initiatives that significantly reduce costs and improve quality.


    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Evaluates and approves vendors, authorizing purchase orders for goods and services.

    Provides procurement expertise to improve processes and performance.

    Provides functional and technical administration and support for NYPC's procurement software.

    Responsible for coordination with data integrity of contract database.

    Assists in the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment utilizing standard specifications from predetermined sources.

    Assists in the preparation of bids from draft materials, contacts vendors and invites quotations and bid proposals.

    Compares and analyzes quotations and recommends action concerning commodity sources and the awarding of contracts.

    Authorizes purchase orders for goods and services.

    Confers with NYPC personnel and manufacturer's representatives concerning goods, supplies, equipment, and modification of purchasing specifications.

    Investigates supply goods and equipment complaints.

    Maintains a variety of purchasing records and files.


    Assists in the evaluation and selection of materials to replenish or expand NYPC supply stock, monitoring a stock level consistent with meeting business requirements and limitations of storage facilities.

    Maintains the document management of supplier contract relationships.


    Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

    Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree required; Master's degree preferred.

    Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience required.

    Minimum 5 years of supply chain/procurement experience required.

    Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

    Excellent attention to detail with the ability to consistently provide accurate and timely work product.

    Strong ability to adhere to deadlines.

    Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet required.

    Strong communication skills required, both orally and in writing.

    The salary range and/or hourly rate displayed is a determination of base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
