With headquarters currently located in Kennesaw, Georgia, Cloud 9 is in the process of relocating to Cartersville, Georgia, to accommodate its expanding operations and growing customer base. We are now seeking an experienced HR Director to join our team and contribute to our continued success. We are looking for someone that can build an HR department from the ground up, a true visionary that can take us from 34 locations to every block in the country.     • Provide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, employee career development, succession planning, retention programs, training and leadership development

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced HR Director specialized in ensuring legal compliance in the state of Georgia for Cloud 9 Smoke and Vape Co. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Georgia labor laws and regulations, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures to keep our company compliant and legally sound. Experience with Paychex and a strong emphasis on meticulous onboarding processes, including completion of Form I-9 for all employees, is highly desirable. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have experience working in both large companies and rapidly growing companies.

    **Responsibilities**

    1. Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in accordance with Georgia labor laws and regulations, utilizing the Paychex platform for efficient management.

    2. Ensure all onboarding processes are conducted in compliance with Georgia laws, including the completion of Form I-9 for all employees, and maintain accurate records of documentation.

    3. Stay up-to-date with changes in Georgia employment legislation and ensure company policies are adjusted accordingly, working closely with Paychex representatives to implement system updates as needed.

    4. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with Georgia state laws regarding employment, wages, benefits, and workplace safety, leveraging Paychex reporting tools for thorough analysis.

    5. Provide guidance and support to management and employees regarding HR-related legal matters, including discrimination, harassment, and disciplinary actions, while utilizing Paychex resources for accurate documentation.

    6. Oversee the recruitment and hiring process, ensuring compliance with Georgia laws pertaining to hiring practices, background checks, and employment eligibility verification (Form I-9), utilizing Paychex for streamlined applicant tracking and onboarding.

    7. Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and mediation, ensuring compliance with Georgia laws and company policies, while utilizing Paychex for comprehensive record-keeping.

    8. Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and 401(k) plans, ensuring compliance with Georgia state regulations, and effectively communicate benefit options to employees through Paychex self-service portals.

    9. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to HR activities, including personnel files, employee handbook updates, and training records, utilizing Paychex for secure storage and easy access.

    10. Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to address complex HR issues and ensure compliance with Georgia employment laws, providing Paychex-generated reports and data as necessary.

    11. Create comprehensive weekly and monthly reports on HR metrics, including but not limited to turnover rates, recruitment metrics, training completion rates, and compliance status, utilizing Paychex reporting tools and other relevant software.

    12. Conduct training sessions for managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and legal requirements specific to Georgia, utilizing Paychex training modules to enhance learning outcomes.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

    2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR management, with a focus on compliance in the state of Georgia and Georgia Department of Labor.

    3. In-depth knowledge of Georgia employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

    4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply complex legal information.

    5. Experience with Paychex or similar HRIS platforms for payroll, benefits administration, and HR management.

    6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

    7. Proven experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

    8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

    9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for report generation and analysis.

    10. Experience working in both large companies and rapidly growing companies, demonstrating adaptability and agility in HR management practices.

    11.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management

    12.7+ years' of professional HR experience, ideally from a services oriented business, with a combination of corporate and business unit line experience preferred

    13.Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    14.Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
