    Working at the individual team level, an Asc Design Strategist responsibility is to work with teams using human-centered design principles, methods and technologies to deliver customer value. This role will work closely with a more senior Design Strategist alongside team members, product owners, agility and/or change practitioners to lead teams through full design activities at all aspects of design projects.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Valid Drivers License required
    • High School/GED

    Responsibilities:
    • Guide team to deliver valuable outcomes by facilitating human-centered design workshops, events and activities
    • Partner to facilitate teams through aspects of the human-centered design process such as problem framing, user research, prioritization, prototyping and storytelling
    • Facilitates collaborative design activities and methods
    • Proactively manage assumptions, dependencies, and risks
    • Supports the teams to maintain focus on the evidence-based customer needs
    • Fosters collaboration with all members of team to maintain alignment toward the desired outcomes
    • Demonstrates and encourages an environment that supports an organizational core values of safety, integrity, ethics, and customer mindset
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Recently completed a Duke Energy Internship or Co-Op
    • Demonstrated servant-leadership in nontraditional ways (coaching, volunteer work leadership, etc.)
    • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
    • Strong initiative and self-organization in prior roles, school projects, volunteer work, internships, etc.
    • Demonstrated Design thinking facilitation, user research activities & implementation, human-centered value-driven prioritization techniques
    • Proficient public speaking skills, written and verbal communication
    • Strong facilitation skills
    • Proven ability to collaborative with others effectively
    • Demonstrated ability to think critically and problem solve
    • Ability to meet an individual or team where they are and help them succeed
    Working Conditions:
    • Virtual - Mobility Classification: Each employee at Duke Energy is assigned an Employee Mobility Classification based on the Company's assessment of his/her role, including primary job duties and the nature of the work performed. The Mobility Classification for this position is Virtual. Employees in these roles can perform almost all work from a remote location due to the nature of the job, do not require an assigned workspace and only occasionally need shared seating or collaboration space in a Company facility. Virtual employees perform highly focused, individual work using the Company's standard desktop applications and normally require little to no in-person, face-to-face team interaction or collaboration. Virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to the Duke Energy facility where their team (i.e., manager and/or teammates) is located or to which they are assigned. Any exceptions to this residence requirement require management approval. Regardless of your assigned Employee Mobility Classifications, all new hires will generally be required to be present at an assigned Duke Energy work location during their onboarding period, as established by management.
