    Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down – Asheville, NC 28801

    Join a fast-paced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) assignment in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step-Down setting in Asheville, North Carolina (28801). This on-site travel nursing contract is ideal for RNs who thrive with higher-acuity telemetry and intermediate-care patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and can step into leadership—candidates must be willing to serve as Charge RN when needed.     Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements

    • License: Active RN license (state requirements apply)
    • Experience: Experience requirements will follow facility/unit policy (no minimum years specified in this posting)
    • Charge Requirement: Must be willing to take Charge RN assignments as needed
    • Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, prioritization, and monitoring skills for intermediate-care/telemetry patients
    • Communication: Clear, timely escalation and collaboration with providers and the healthcare team
    • Documentation: Accurate charting in the EMR and adherence to unit protocols

    PCU RN Responsibilities

    • Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care as a PCU/Step-Down Registered Nurse for patients with complex medical and post-procedural needs
    • Continuously monitor telemetry and patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate care appropriately
    • Administer medications and therapies per provider orders and unit standards; document accurately in the EMR
    • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary partners to support patient education, care progression, and discharge planning
    • Serve as Charge RN when assigned, supporting unit flow, clinical prioritization, staffing communication, and patient safety
    • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety practices, and facility policies
