The Senior Accountant role is an important and valued part of the General Accounting team, performing various tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Finance or related field
Experience with Microsoft Excel and ERP accounting applications
Desire to become highly proficient with process improvement implementation and use your experience with technical, managerial, cost and tax accounting standards to improve accounting processes and month-end Accounting Close
Desire to become proficient in FP&A by partnering extensively with our FP&A team and assisting with key monthly duties, along with ad hoc requests for analyzing business trends
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication, along with the ability to organize and prioritize
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
Embodies personal integrity and can be trusted with confidential matters
Preferred:
Licensed CPA
Construction industry accounting/finance experience
Office and Travel:
In addition to regional meetings, overnight travel may be involved
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Assist with month-end closing process, conducting research and making journal entries to correct account discrepancies
Prepare and post standard closing journal entries
Prepare financial statement supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations
Assist with systems testing and process improvement initiatives involving cross departmental collaboration
Assist with preparing sales tax returns and other corporate reporting requirements
Assist with financial, bank and sales tax audits
Analyze and problem solve by offering solutions to resolve issues
Drive improvement in existing business processes
Partner with internal teams including Project Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll to develop and maintain positive professional relationships
Extenstive partnering with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to ensure accurate and timely data from our ERP system is correctly uploaded into our financial planning system.
Also partner with FP&A to analyze business results compared to annual budget, and compared to quarterly forecast. We estimate the amount of time spent partnering with FP&A could ramp up to about 50% in this role.View every interaction as an opportunity to add value and enhance relationships

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car.
Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.
Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
