    Payroll Specialist – Asheville - $20.00/hr.

    PrideStaff is currently recruiting for a Payroll/Bookkeeper Specialist for an accounting company located in Asheville, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented and engaged candidate that enjoys working in a team environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Handle daily payroll department operations, including collecting and verifying timekeeping information and processing payroll
    • Maintain accurate payroll records including required payroll garnishment
    • Develop financial and operational reports when requested by compiling summary data of earnings, state and federal taxes, deductions, PTO, disability, etc.
    • Reconcile financial data and validate reports post confirmation
    • Follow appropriate state and federal taxation of employer paid benefits
    • Run and report on regular payroll data audits
    • Process manual checks when required
    • Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information to accounting software and regularly reconciling accounts.

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Minimum of two (2) years payroll/bookkeeping experience.
    • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
    • Experience with QuickBooks software
    • Strong MS Office skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word
    • Data entry skills
    • Keen attention to detail and ability to keep records and files organized.
    • Strong time management with respect for deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Hours of Work: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
