Position Summary-Roofer Helper/Roofer Laborer (Richmond, VA): The Roofer Helper is responsible for assisting Lead Roofer during the application or repair of roofing materials.
Unloads materials, cleans off roof, applies roofing material, and cleans site after job is complete. Unloading materials from truck and unrolling roofing material. Ensuring there is enough material for entire roof or repair. Lifting roofing materials onto roof. Clearing debris from roof. Scraping or pulling off old roofing material. Assist in installing paper and shingles to make repair to shingle roofs. Assist in applying layer of tar on roof. Assist in cleaning membrane to prepare for roof repairs. Clearing out gutters and drains. Assist in affixing metal sheets to roof boards or frameworks. Assisting in locating and fixing leaks. Repairing damage caused from storms and high winds. Performing other related duties as assigned.
