    Job Description

    Crown is looking for a CAD Designer with 3 or more years' experience in designing 2D and 3D models, assembly drawings, maps and schematics and 2 or more years in CAD software development. Software experience in pathfinder a plus but not required. Ability to convert Trimble GPS plotter data into cad format a plus but not required.

    1. CAD drafters utilize computer-aided design systems to create technical drawings for airport cable conduit construction and installation. These detailed drawings incorporate the input of field engineers, surveyors, and Fiber Optics technicians, and can specify dimensions, codes, materials, and installation methods.
    2. Creating/documenting schematic diagrams and design layouts and incorporating engineering red lines to various drawing packages based upon engineering specifications using CAD tools and methods. Examples include: Schematic/Wiring diagrams, Field Survey and GPS Data maps, and 3D modeling and Animation.
    3. CAD drafters work within several different disciplines/specialties (i.e. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical). Generally, CAD drafters coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, schematics, maps. They consult with field engineers, surveyors, and Fiber Techs.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with Fiber Optics System (FOTS) teams in defining airport communication and control cable infrastructures. Able to take field sketches and photos to create pdf drawings.
    • Work with FOTS team, Surveyors, and engineers to develop new designs in 2D and 3D. Able to attach an airport image from Google earth to a site drawing with GPS surveyed coordinates.
    • Lead and multi-task with drafters on various projects
    • Set up configuration, cells, blocks, templates, and pen tables
    • Able to convert verbal and written information into two- or three-dimensional drawings

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree in Auto Cad with experience in surveying/engineering/mathematics
    • Field-related survey experience is a plus
    • Understanding field GPS coordinates systems and datums
    • Converting micro station to auto cad is a plus
    • Good concentration and attention to detail
