    The primary role of this Clinical Research Coordinator position is to recruit participants and coordinate daily and routine operations for a 5-year clinical trial funded by the National Cancer Institute with breast cancer survivors and their supportive partners who will receive wellness interventions through Zoom. Position responsibilities include coordinating recruitment and routine research activities as specified by study protocol, communicating with participants for routine study reminders addressing basic study questions, and routine monitoring of data collection in electronic platforms like REDCap.

    Duties & Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the Principal Investigator and others, coordinate study recruitment efforts conducted locally and nationally. Recruit study participants.
  • Oversee study screening and enrollment procedures conducted through REDCap.
  • Communicate with prospective and enrolled participants to address basic study questions.
  • Communicate with enrolled participants to inform them of intervention arm assignment, and to remind participants to complete study assessments and interventions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both in-person and by technology.

  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in both traditional office and at-home office settings.
  • Excellent ability to use common productivity tools including Microsoft Word and Excel, and Zoom.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge about best practices for conducting clinical trial research.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with cancer survivors and their family members as well as others who may be experiencing distress in a kind and appropriate manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, take the initiative, and work well within a small research team.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Complexity of Work:

  • Problems encountered will be varied but will generally be with precedent. Resolving problems may require some analysis and interpretation, requiring innovation and creativity.
  • There will be an expectation to work independently, however in the event that a problem is without precedent, or a solution is not apparent, the Principal Investigator should be contacted for prompt assistance.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience in a clinical setting required.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working as a data collector or clinical coordinator for a clinical trial in cancer survivors, or other at-risk population.
  • Prior experience with REDCap and SPSS is very desirable.
