- MITRE's Enterprise Information Technology Division provides corporate-wide services including High Performance Computing (HPC), Enterprise PC and Mobile Solutions, Network Services, and Protected Computing to MITRE research organizations.
- We are looking for an experienced Linux HPC Systems Engineer to join our team.
- Exciting opportunity to work with automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced computing to deliver AI and HPC services to MITRE.
- Responsible for maintaining HPC hardware and user tools for over 800 MITRE employees.
- Support projects across MITRE for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation.
- Provide Linux systems administration support for HPC systems.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems and application software.
- Deliver user support from basic account management to applications support.
- Develop monitoring and accounting solutions for system management.
- Implement best practices, compliance standards, and security controls.
- Participate in a team environment focused on trust, communication, and innovation.
- Work in an agile model, delivering assigned stories as part of development sprints.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux systems administration.
- Software development experience in C, C++, Perl, Python, Java, shell scripts.
- Proficiency in configuration management and automation tools like Git, Ansible, or Chef.
- Hands-on experience with computer networking and troubleshooting internet protocols.
- Experience in system administration and troubleshooting with Linux Servers.
- Experience in systems administration on distributed computing systems.
- Familiarity with HPC-specific resources and technologies like GPUs, FPGAs, MPI.
- Experience with resource managers and schedulers for HPC clusters.
- Knowledge of container technologies like Docker, Singularity.
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk.
- Experience with configuration management systems like Chef or Ansible.
