    American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech for an acute care teaching hospital setting, with required proficiency in advanced cardiac cath lab procedures including structural heart interventions and a 4x10 day shift schedule with on-call responsibilities.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with ACC-accredited cardiac cath lab program6 procedure rooms serving an adult patient population with a daily census of 15–20 patientsCommon diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closuresAdvanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocolsEquipment includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUSEpic EMR — experience preferred but not required4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PMOn-call requirement of 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts per 6-week period, including one full weekend (Fri–Sun) of call and one Saturday elective shift per cycle; must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when calledMust be available to work or take call for one holiday per contract term, in rotation with staffResponsibilities include performing and supporting advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, structural heart interventions, and research protocols in a high-volume, multidisciplinary cath lab environmentFacility is supported by adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs, with a multidisciplinary team structureThe hospital is nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence and continues to expand its cardiovascular services with innovative technology

    Requirements
    Minimum experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings required — first-time travelers will not be consideredCurrent BLS and ACLS requiredARRT(R) or CCI RCIS required; Virginia state license preferred for ARRT(R) holders — any active state license (in hand or pending) is accepted, as Virginia will grant emergency authorization while a permanent VA license is processing; license required if applicableProficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and MitraclipSkilled in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocolsKnowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply managementMust be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when on callMust reside outside the facility's local radius to be eligible for this positionTwo professional references required for considerationPDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
