    Overview:

    Cleary Gottlieb seeks a Business Analyst.

    The primary responsibility of this function is:

    • To elicit, analyze, document and validate business requirements to meet business needs;
    • To help clearly define purpose and scope of projects and to manage stakeholder expectations;
    • To identify and/or develop optimal solutions for the business needs;
    • To ensure project awareness within the Firm to achieve better synergies;
    • To ensure the delivery of projects output to customer, quality control and transition to operational mode.
    Responsibilities:
    • Gather business requirements, including local office requirements (g., policies, and statutory requirements ) and translate the high-level requirements into detailed specifications
    • Define business cases and evaluate business, financial and technical feasibility of each option
    • Perform market analysis for potential solutions and interact with potential vendors
    • Identify and propose possible solutions that meet business requirements
    • Analyze existing or new documentation
    • Provide project teams with a clear understanding of business needs, requirements and specifications
    • Work with the QA team in assisting them in building testcases to ensure they are accurate
    • Prepare UAT scripts and assist with UAT process
    • Conduct regular status meetings and deliver status reports to management and stakeholders
    • Liaise with steering committees and stakeholders as well as participants in the project in order to ensure control of scope, risks, changes (if applicable) and communication
    • Provide support and guidance to staff on the best usage of existing and/or new software
    • Create general awareness of the IT technology-software and services market
    • Gather pre-project documentation and ensure documentation is formatted according to Firms guidelines and best practices
    • Ensure post project documentation for continuous improvement of processes
    • Build and maintain documentation in areas of expertise (e.g., processes, guidelines, best practices) that can be used for reference and training purposes
    • Ensure the business has a good understanding of the business analysis processes
    • Ensure defined business analysis processes are followed within the Firm
    • Regularly review and improve business analysis processes in cooperation with the business analysis team
    • Collaborate in Jira and Confluence on the tasks as they pertain to business analysis.
    • Travel occasionally for project related work
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor degree and minimum 4-6 years experience in a software development, business analysis, project management, preferably in a professional services environment, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Law firm experience is a plus
    • Good documentation skills
    • Experience in Jira and Confluence
    • Proven experience with development methodologies (g., Agile, Waterfall) and software design and development
    • Fluent in English and any other European language is a plus
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in various settings (g., video conference; audio)
    • Excellent presentation skills (written and verbal)
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment with diverse personalities at all levels of the Firm.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, and to work under pressure- manage multiple responsibilities amid competing priorities, tight deadlines, and changing business demands and opportunities
    • Professional ethic and manner must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the Firms internal and personnel affairs
    • Must be a self-starter
    • Pro-active work attitude, results oriented, reliable, and flexible
    • Ability to take a structured approach to problem solving and decision making by analyzing, thinking ahead and planning
    • Ability to work on own initiative and in team based environment
    • Ability to find creative solutions and to think out of the box
    • Exhibits good judgement and accountability
    • Flexibility regarding working hours and willingness to work some overtime (will be working with global offices)
    • Willingness to occasionally travel

    The estimated base salary for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
