    This role reports to the SVP of Digital Technologies. The organization leverages advanced technologies such as GenAI, mobile app development, and data analytics to empower business and product stakeholders across different brands and regions.     The Vice President of Digital Engineering is a prominent and strategic leader and speaker at Travel + Leisure Co. This role is in charge of creating, implementing and leading the digital engineering vision, growth, and performance of the company's wide range of brands. The success measures of this position are to improve user engagement, drive digital engineering quality, product, and program delivery on schedule, within budget with high standards and efficiency. Ensure that the digital platforms provide more engagement features, marketing, sales, and service content and continually optimize profitability for the company. This role will work closely with business, product, and finance leaders.

    How You'll Shine:

    Strategy & Planning
    • Champions enterprise digital strategy for a portfolio of products and services in support of business vision and priorities, while balancing impact, feasibility, time, and cost
    • Serves as thought leader on digital transformation and engineering solutions that reduce technical debt, grow revenue, and improve customer experience
    • Leads development of outcome-based product portfolio OKRs and KPIs to organize work and measure success
    • Develops and executes a strategic plan and implementation roadmap to support organization's digital technology portfolio needs
    • Identifies areas of risk, bottlenecks, issues, and opportunities, while advising leadership on impacts and decisions
    • Conducts financial forecasts, and prepare annual digital engineering budget
    • Performs capacity planning to estimate existing and future requirements
    Innovation & Growth
    • Leads efforts to analyze accumulated data and market research, product visions and strategies to drive digital engineering solution management, rationalization, and appropriate balanced investment allocation of growth, sustaining and maintenance efforts across the organization
    • Monitors market and competitive intelligence, perform analysis and leverage conclusions to improve product/services customer satisfaction and overall business results
    • Acts as key liaison with internal business stakeholders as well as key vendors/external technology partners to identify innovative technologies
    • Defines metrics and put processes in place to validate the benefits/value of potential solutions to help drive decision making for potential technology investments
    Operational Excellence
    • Ensures adoption of operational and financial metrics including development of key performance indicators, monitoring, and data analysis and leveraging thereof to improve digital platforms and product delivery and operations
    • Plays leadership role in senior management reviews of digital engineering strategies, roadmaps, business and customer outcomes and delivery health and outcomes (incl OKRs, KPIs, progress to-date, budget burndown, etc.) to enable decisions on changes to investments and priorities
    • Provides senior level strategic and tactical guidance and supports in the development, delivery, and management of digital ecosystem platform
    • Ensures all digital engineering happens with defined Enterprise Architecture standards taking required scalability, performance, support, and other factors into consideration
      Partners with Shared Services functions including DevOps, Quality/Performance Engineering, and Middleware (SOA/MSA) to ensure integrated, efficient, thorough, and process driven solution to the business
      Recommends distribution and retail industry and company solution best-practices to ensure adoption
      Determines feasibility, proposed value, effort/resources, prioritization and key metrics across the project portfolio
      Maintains current knowledge of business including, vision, goals, direction and strategy to ensure alignment with Company's short- and long-term goals
    • Collaborates with product managers, product owners, scrum masters, and other business partners to coordinate the engineering of all digital technology products on time and on budget
    Digital Ecosystem
    • Leads the business unit level digital strategy to optimize return on investment, adapt the business model, and grow market share
    • Drives the business unit level digital transformation through advancements in predictive analytics, service and product monetization, and technology modernization
    Leadership
    • Demonstrates leadership that engages and empowers associates to own their performance expectations, grow their careers and contribute to the company mission and vision
    • Oversees career progression for department members and manages career progression for direct reports to include hiring, performance reviews, salary decisions and promotions
    • Coaches, mentors, and provides effective performance feedback through associate recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary
    • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, projects, lateral rotations, succession planning etc.) to facilitate individual and team development
    • Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for rapid failure and learning, disagreement over ideas, expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each associate and the department to succeed
    Travel Requirements
    • Travel: 5-15%. Travel to different business units may be necessary.
    What You'll Bring:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field
    • Master's degree preferred
    • Has excellent working knowledge of:
      • Strategic planning
      • Emerging technology identification and assessment
      • Digital product and portfolio management, including investment appraisal and prioritization
      • Systems and software life cycle engineering and development strategies and practices
      • Organizational and stakeholder governance
      • Ability to mentor and development practice maturity within teams
    • Proven track record of working/communicating across large cross-functional teams
    • A record of large team management with proven motivational strategies required
    • Ability to balance conflicting resource demands and internal pressures with focus towards our business priorities.
    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to foster diverse talent in an inclusive, collaborative environment
    • 12+ years' experience in IT field required
    • 7+ years' experience in leading large multi-tiered teams within digital engineering functions
    • Have experience working on large and enterprise scale projects
    • Have experience in program management
    • Have experience delivering large scale Mobility & Web solutions
    • Strong understanding of System and Application Security and Compliance - PCI and SOX.
    • Strong, proven experience leading teams, leveraging development technologies such as Java, Web, Mobile, J2EE, .Net, SQL, Oracle, ESB, MDM, BI, ETL, WebSphere; and many others
    • Proven experience developing and maturing IT organizations, CMMI level 3 (Defined) success would be highly desirable
