    Lead, direct and manage the development and execution of a global spend category strategy inclusive of procurement, sourcing, contract, and vendor relationship management. Work independently or under little supervision to perform Strategic Sourcing for assigned product portfolio to minimize cost, mitigate risk, improve product quality and optimize assurance of supply.

    This role is dedicated to drive value creation vs day to day operational category management, which includes the following:
    • Responsible for collaborating with global businesses and Procurement Managers within the Hub and Spoke Model to set the global strategic and tactical direction for sourcing efforts related to the packaging category, ensuring integration with business vision and strategy.
    • Create Category Sourcing Strategies and deploy processes throughout the company by effectively creating alignment and communicating category strategies to the business unit and R&D leaders. Deliver a 5%+ YoY pipeline with an approved project portfolio.
    • Understand and monitor key spend trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations and strategic importance of critical materials in order to implement appropriate sourcing strategies.
    • Locate, analyze, develop and maintain a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future needs of all purchased materials and services.
    • Lead enterprise-wide negotiations aligned to business requirements and develop contracts for the supply of both standard and complex products and services with new and existing suppliers. Develop proactive advance analytics cost strategies. Collaborate with Legal in regards to contractual terms.
    • Evaluate complex situations to develop and implement a preferred solution for the maximum benefit.
    • Close engagement with the Packaging COE to drive feasibility for priority material development and critical initiatives
    • Drive and lead category differentiation through customer driven innovation and sustainability initiatives by applying recycled and recyclable materials and reducing carbon footprint and waste.
    • Identification of new and emerging technologies and suppliers.
    • Lead supplier business review process (SRM process) to drive continuous improvement in cost, delivery, innovation, and quality performance for strategic suppliers.
    • Uphold company fiduciary responsibilities; actively ensure and maintain adherence to company standards and values, business controls, ethics, policies and procedures, and professional standards.
    REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience:
    • BS in Engineering, Supply chain or related fields.
    • BS/BA degree with 12+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Prior Packaging Category Management experience or Packaging Design/Material experience
    • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process by demonstrating Lean Six Sigma tools.
