- Teaching and creating innovative, student-centered curriculum in a collaborative, multidisciplinary English/social studies classes
- Collaborating closely in a co-teaching position with the social studies teacher.
- Focus on active reading and decoding of language
- Understanding of how to foster a text-based discussion in a seminar format
- Teaching analytical writing, revision, and editing
- Integration of public speaking, presentation, and publication skills into lessons
- Serving as an advisor to a small group of Middle School students
- Supervision of extracurricular activities including class trips
- Supporting the Mission of the school and its leadership
- Integrating technology and research-based pedagogy in the classroom
- Work with Learning Support team to integrate accommodations into teaching and assessment for those students with accommodations
- Communication with parents on successes and challenges of students in advisory and students in English classes
