King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Cook I to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.
Brief Summary of Job:
Prepares, seasons, cooks and portions hot sauces, soups, stocks, broth, stews, braised sauteed and roasted meats, fish and poultry. Prepares cold meats and supervises the cooking of vegetables. Substitutes or relieves cooks assigned to junior stations as necessary.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing
personalized service to hotel guests.
Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
May assist in the supervision and/or training of all other cooks.
Keeps working area clean and free of obstruction of any kind.
May prepare and supervise preparation of desserts, pastries, confections and ice crearm.
May create artistic statuaries and ornaments out of sugar, pastry, or ices.
May cut, trim and prepare meats, fish, or fowl for frying, roasting, broiling and stewing to order of various other cooks.
Initiates requisitions.
Converts recipes and standard measures to daily requirements.
Works under little or no direct supervision.
Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best
overall performance of the department and hotel.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time
Knowledge/Education/Experience:
Minimum of six (6) years of related experience. High school or equivalent education. TB clearance card required.
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
English speaking or bilingual. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Ability to maintain good team member relations. Dependable.
