    POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

    Recover Together Bend (RTB) is a residential substance use disorder facility that provides detox services to clients struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues.

    PAY: $50/hr. Overtime pay. Opportunities for pay increases after six months.

    HOURS: Night shift. Regular and Per Diem. 3x12 and 4x12 schedule.

    PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for implementing and supervising nursing services in the medical detoxification program.

    CLASSIFICATION: Full time or part time; hourly non-exempt position

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Implements nursing care in accordance with program procedures established by the Medical Director. Duties specific to the Registered Nurse include:

    • Administering drugs, medications, treatments, inoculations, and tests as allowed by law.
    • Implementing verbal physician orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and included in the patient record
    • Communicating with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
    • Completing other tasks within the scope of registered nurses and the program services and procedures.

    Oversees all aspects of the detox member admission process, including:

    • Pre-screening of new patients for appropriateness for admission, including TB and UA screening.
    • Obtaining physical assessment data and health history
    • Inventorying and caring for members personal possessions.

    Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Medical Director.

    Records patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.

    May be designated Charge Nurse for a shift, with oversight of LPNs or nursing assistants.

    Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment after completion of detoxification.

    Responsible for the total nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, facility policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying principles of medical asepsis and applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.

    Provides patient education on health care, as assigned or appropriate.

    Implements safety and emergency procedures during fire drills and other disaster procedures, with assistance to patients and children in the detox and residential programs.

    Attends regularly scheduled detox staff meetings.

    Follows all policies and procedures with regard to member information protection, including alcohol- drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA

    Attends training on chemical dependency as required by employer.

    Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.

    Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and current licensure in Oregon State as Registered Nurse.

    Maintain a valid Oregon State Driver's license at all times.

    Able to read, analyze, and interpret policies and directions and present information effectively, both orally and in writing.

    Ability to deal with chemically dependent individuals non-judgmentally and with caring and compassion.

    Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other staff as well as with referral sources

    Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret and evaluate information presented in research reports, professional publications, referral documents and similar materials. Ability to write clearly and cohesively and to present information effectively both orally and in writing.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions from a wide variety of data and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Physical Demands: Job requires regular sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, writing, and carrying charts, food, trays, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, implements or office equipment; talk and hear; stand and walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop or kneel. Employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and be able to assist an adult weighing pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to move chairs, beds, and medical equipment, move patients in bed (with or without assistance) and to change bed linens, help clients from floor to chair or bed, and assist with bathing.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Job offer is contingent upon results of pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, reference check, and compliance with TB test requirements. RTB is a drug-free workplace, and all employees are subject to random, as well as for cause, drug screening. Employees must show no evidence of misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed by RTB.
