    Job Description:

    GDIT has an opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative Process Maturity Coach and thought leader to support the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) client in continuing and advancing their project-portfolio management transformation. GDIT supports the Operations and Engineering Branch (OEB) in its process maturity journey.

    You will lead in both agile and traditional project management coaching efforts for all teams in OEB as part of our Process Maturity Journey. You'll tailor adaptive project planning/execution processes and methods to meet the needs of our teams and our clients.     The successful candidate will be a change agent who is not content with the status quo. The role requires successfully juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent work streams. The successful candidate will thrive on the challenge and help the teams achieve high project management maturity and become high-performing teams. This role requires a pragmatic servant leader who is passionate about applying principles and practices from multiple disciplines (PMI, Scrum, Kanban, etc.) to fit the needs of each team's work and supporting the VMO (Value Management Office) in maturing OEB's Project-Portfolio Management efforts.

    HOW A PROCESS MATURITY COACH WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

    • Partner with the OEB VMO Lead on Objectives, Key Results, and Strategy for Agile and Project Management maturity at the OEB level
    • Develop a team-level process maturity model and assist teams to self-assess against the maturity model
    • Develop a coaching model/approach and roadmap for OEB implementing said coaching model and roadmap and hands-on coaching of teams.
    • Upskill Project Managers/Scrum Masters, Tech Leads, and Engineer staff
    • Help the teams adopt and improve project planning and execution approaches for delivering IT products and services to support, enable, and advance the customer's science-based mission
    • Apply knowledge and experience about different Agile approaches and how they can be applied pragmatically in different settings
    • Provide guidance to help teams overcome process maturity adoption challenges
    • Help teams align their efforts so that they can effectively and efficiently deliver value to customers
    • Work to leverage project management tools to help teams get visibility into their work and to capture useful metrics
    • Craft team policies, processes, and culture

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

    Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree

    Required Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience

    Required Technical Skills:

    • Minimum of five years of team coaching experience in multiple project management methodologies, such as Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban, Waterfall and Hybrid
    • Minimum of five years of experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Kanban Practitioner, Product Owner, or another role in an Agile team
    • Minimum of three years of experience using Agile/Project Management Tools, such as Trello, JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, AgilePlace, ServiceNow, Wrike, or other related tools
    • Minimum of three years of experience producing team-level Maturity model assessment and development plans
    • Minimum of three years of organizational and team level coaching implementation plans

    Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain NIH Public Trust

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Must have an Agile and Lean mindset
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Must have Organizational Change Management mindset
    • Must be able to prepare and develop presentations, such as coaching strategies and process maturity implementation plans

    Location: Remote. Must be able to commute to the Rockville, MD office as needed
