    Purpose:


    This position leads the full array of marketing and communications initiatives for the nation's largest metalcasting trade and professional society.


    Key Accountabilities:
    Advance the AFS mission through timely and creative communications via a full spectrum of communications channels.

    Serve as staff liaison to the AFS Marketing Division.

    Supervise assigned staff and secure collaboration from staff colleagues and volunteers as needed.

    Skills and Experience:
    This position requires a sustained record of strong and quantifiable success in all marketing and strategic communications aspects.

    Incumbent must have examples of
    Program planning

    News and feature writing

    Email campaign planning and implementation

    Website maintenance and optimization

    Social media strategy implementation

    PhotoShop

    Media Relations
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced communications environment.

    Ability to learn internal AFS programs required.

    Perform other duties as assigned.


    Required Skills or Experience:
    A degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field (or commensurate experience) is required.

    Position requires minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in relevant fields

    Requires 3 to 5 years of experience in supervising communications and marketing staff.

    Excellent writing, speaking, listening, and project-organization skills.

    Must be fluent in English, written and spoken.

    Proficiency with MS Office and social media are mandatory.

    Knowledge of Photoshop is required.

    Familiarity with CRM and e-blast tools preferred, but not required.

    Excellent project-management skills.

    Familiarity with manufacturing and business-government relations is a plus.

    Occasional Travel required

    Must have valid driver's license.

    Physical Demands:
    Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, balance, stoop.

    Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    The work is classified as Light Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept. of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
