    OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Quality Analyst 1 in our Cary, NC location to join the Outdoor Team to perform verification and validation of next generation outdoor products, with a focus on scuba (Open Water Dive Certification strongly desired) .

    In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership of quality assurance activities for complex features within Garmin consumer products and/or software in a team-oriented environment.

    You will have the opportunity to perform hands on scuba dive testing of new products in a real environment including local dive sites as well as possible travel to ocean sites when needed.

    You will work with beta testers and dive shops around the world to ensure our products provide the highest value to the most experienced divers.

    Essential FunctionsDemonstrate a complete understanding of quality assurance principles/methodologies and knowledge of Garmin product specifications, capabilities and operation related to the market segment being supportedDesign test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures of simple-to-moderate complexity, in accordance with established Garmin test procedures - including analysis, review and tracing of requirements as necessaryServe as the voice of the customer in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problemsDocument defects in defect management system and report defects to developers and work closely with engineering to assist in problem resolutionCollect and analyze test results and beta user feedback (when applicable)Communicate product and/or project status to internal customers and product ownersInvestigate and verify issues reported to quality assurance for validity and reproducibilityVerify software modifications in new software versions to prepare for implementationAssist in test case maintenance as necessary to keep repository currentParticipate in the definition and documentation of process improvementsTrain and mentor new quality assurance associatesParticipate and assist with the coordination of release deploymentsPerform system analysis techniques and procedures to determine software functional specifications for Garmin productsBasic QualificationsAssociate's Degree OR a minimum of 2 years equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Relevant experience or training in product and/or software quality assurance processes and methodologiesMust possess superior organizational/analytical skills, be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, can work independently with minimal supervision, and can exercise sound independent judgmentDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDesired QualificationsBachelor's DegreeOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Previous experience developing and executing tests related to a Garmin core product marketRelevant experience or training in creating test plans, conducting usability tests and/or writing test scripts is preferredOpen Water Dive CertificationGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
