Oncology Registered Nurse Position at Stormont Vail Health

Schedule:

Part-time – 20-35 hours/week, benefit eligible

Shift:

First Shift (Days - Less than 12 hours per shift)

Weekly Work Schedule:

9 hours shifts- Part-time 2-3 shifts per week

Job Information

A Brief Overview:

The Oncology RN is responsible for coordinating patient care, assessing information provided by patients, communicating with healthcare providers, and administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. The role involves triaging patients, performing oncology and lab assessments, and working closely with providers for optimal patient care.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

1 year of experience in acute care - Preferred

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patient rights
Demonstrates competency in various psychomotor skills
Effective communication skills

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (KSBN) - Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) RQI or other certifications may be required
Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (ONS) - Must obtain within 90 days of hire
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) - Preferred

Develop and implement care plans
Evaluate patient progress and outcomes
Provide professional nursing care guided by ethical principles
Mentor new nurses and support students
