    Position Summary:

    The purpose of this role is to establish, support and improve Daikin's position within the Energy Efficiency community in the Southeast (South) Division, and to use influence to drive sales performance. The Energy Efficiency Business Development Manager (EE BDM) reports directly to the National Manager of Energy Efficiency and Electrification Program Development.

    The main focus for the EE BDM will be centered on: developing and maintaining relationships with utility companies, program implementers and designers, regional energy efficiency offices (REEOs) and other entities working to decarbonize through electrification; using those relationships to develop and drive rebate program opportunities centered around Daikin's inverter-driven variable capacity heat pump products; and helping to grow and enhance sales by educating channel partners and Daikin employees on active and future rebate opportunities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Conduct meetings/webinars with clients to educate on the benefits of Daikin's inverter technology
    • Promote electrification through Daikin's heat pump products
    • Develop high-efficiency rebate programs and drive sales throughout Daikin's South Division
    • Utilize a highly-skilled consultative selling approach, providing energy solutions to utilities, energy efficiency program implementers and government agencies
    • Demonstrate technical and business acumen to build credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment with customers
    • Differentiate Daikin's products and services from competitors' products based on business benefits and knowledge of competitors' strategies
    • Coordinate selling strategy and rebate program details with DNA's Account Managers, Distributors and Rep Partners, as well as DNA's product marketing and development teams
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the business, including utilities, program administrators and implementers, trade associations, Regional Energy Efficiency Offices, and others
    • Travel within the eight southeastern states as required to rapidly develop this business segment
    • Responsibility for other duties, as assigned

    • Education/Experience – Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, and a minimum of five years of experience working in the energy sector is preferred
    • Language Ability – Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Write reports, business correspondence, and professional letters and statements. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • Reasoning Ability – Logically solve problems and manage a series of complex situations. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of common computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
