Authorization / Referral Coordinator – Cardiology Office

Location: Tampa, FL (N. MacDill Avenue)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Authorization / Referral Coordinator to join our Cardiology Office. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW). This role is essential to ensuring that authorizations, referrals, and billing-related tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all assigned authorizations are thoroughly researched and resolved within required timeframes.
• Assist with Medicare and commercial insurance billing processes.
• Coordinate and monitor claim status.
• Support the resolution of claim rejections and returned claims; perform necessary follow-up to ensure timely payment.
• Document account activities clearly and accurately.
• Assist with Medicare filing requirements, meeting NOA, 30-day, and 60-day submission deadlines.
• Clarify incomplete or unclear information as needed.
• Assist with audits and compliance-related activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare and insurance billing rules and guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively via phone; adequate hearing (with amplifier if needed).
• Must work onsite at the Tampa (N. MacDill Ave) office.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
