At Barnes-Jewish St Peters Hospital every decision is made in the best interest of patients and families The medical/Surgical unit cares for a variety of patients utilizing relationship based care philosophy Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Under direction manager plans directs coordinates activities on designated shift Performs direct patient care as needed functions clinical resource nursing support staff Assesses plans evaluates documents nursing process assigned unit as needed Responsibilities Facilitates identification resolution gaps care from hospitalization discharge ambulatory setting Critically assess patient data proactively mitigate impending changes condition establishes consults interprofessional team appropriate Leads development implementation complex individual plans collaboration other members interprofessional team patient family caregiver accordance established guidelines standards nursing care Plan reflects application expert holistic clinical knowledge skill anticipate prioritize complex need incorporate interprofessional input identify opportunities improve outcomes Actively utilizes champions scientific inquiry evidence-based practices e g participates journal club facilitates practice change supports adoption recommendations new standard revise existing conducts literature search disseminate knowledge obtained conference continuing education Explore opportunities advance practice e g supports community service event representative healthcare profession facilitate group conduct research represent specialty organization Analyzes gap practice standards provides feedback peers leadership enhance safe delivery Evaluates experience adjusts provided improve satisfaction quality leads evaluation adjust improvementJob description
