    Position Summary:

    The cook and kitchen staff is responsible for all food production at RPS and other areas as required. The role involves all of the regular duties associated with preparation and cooking of food, maintaining highest professional food quality, serving, presentation and sanitation standards. The Cook works under the direction of the Lead Cook and the Food Services Manager to maintain the RPS Kitchen.

    Essential Job Functions:

    ● Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.

    ● Understanding of Recipes.

    ● Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.

    ● Portion, tray, and deliver food to respective wards.

    ● Regulate temperature of ovens.

    ● Accurately chart food, equipment temperatures and cleaning logs.

    ● Maintains Clean Kitchen areas, within Washington State Department of Health Standards

    ● Helps receives inventory from Food Vendors.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    ● High School diploma or the equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred

    ● Current Washington State Food Handlers Certification

    ● One year's experience in an Commercial kitchen

    ● Serve Safe Certified, preferred

    ● Must have reliable transportation.

    Preferred Experience:

    ● Culinary Experience and/or catering

    Working Conditions:

    Work is performed insideand outside in varying temperatures. Employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 75 pounds, twisting and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength. Employee may be exposed to office supply odors or vapors. Employee is also required to stand, walk, type, bend, write, read, interpret and explain complex issues, work on a computer and speak on the telephone.
