Overview

The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for installing and performing quality testing on heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential and commercial settings. The HVAC Installation technician must have a strong attention to detail, particularly when following manufacturer and industry specifications, regulations, and instructions.

Essential Functions

• Install, assemble and set up HVAC systems including A/C units, furnaces, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine proper installation and equipment placement.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
• Test systems and perform quality control checks on completed jobs to ensure proper functionality, adherence to industry standards and customer expectations.
• Communicate with customers to explain installation procedures and system usage as well as answering questions and addressing concerns to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Adhere to all company safety regulations and state/local laws.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and respect clients' homes/business spaces.
• Perform additional duties and assist in other departments as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• EPA Universal Certification
• OSHA 10
• Sheet Metal Certification
• At least 2 years prior experience performing HVAC maintenance, service and/or installation
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and diagrams
• Ability to utilize tablet/smartphone to track orders, jobs, and work performed
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency repairs and service
• Valid driver's license
