    Description


    Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will develop software solutions, database schemas, and information systems in support of organizational and mission goals, and support decision-making for large scale programs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Leading and reviewing data cleaning scripts using tools such as Python, SAS, R, SQL, and Access
    Identifying and creating additional data visualization capabilities, as needed
    Ensuring data governance and quality assurance standards are met
    Developing Relational Database schema, data lakes, and data warehousing based on data best practices
    Developing software-based solutions based on mission need
    Analyzing current processes and identifying potential improvements
    Working with team members to summarize and report on business process improvements to include gaps in current processes and initiatives to improve processes for an organization
    Organizing and leading client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking, and following-up on action items
    Summarizing and presenting information and reports to the team and make recommendations (both oral and written).
    Merging disparate unstructured data sources into robust repositories for future analysis


    What You Will Need :
    U.S. Citizenship and the ability to receive a DHS Public Trust
    Masters Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or analytical field
    TEN (10) or more years Years of Experience in data management or data analytics.

    What Would Be Nice To Have :
    Law enforcement experience
    Experience in 2+ programming languages
    Experience working in SQL, Python, Oracle, Power BI, and Tableau
    Knowledge of relational database theory as well as application
    Experience leading teams focused on developing analytic and software solutions
    Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.
    Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
    Experience developing new and re-designing existing processes to meet new and/or evolving business requirements
    Ability to provide guidance and direction for specific projects or sub-tasks
    Capability to manage multi-task projects
    Experience analyzing and defining system requirements
    Ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff
    Ability to work independently with minimal direction
    Ability to anticipate and respond to management and client needs
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff within an organization
    Statistical expertise
    Knowledge in geospatial and social network analysis
    Experience working with health related data
    Proficiency using Python for data cleansing.
    Experience with ServiceNow, SharePoint, and UiPath
