    Description
    • Perform data management activities, including data loading, system table maintenance, and data reconciliations, within the Global Sales Reporting & Analysis (GSRA) system. This includes the following types of items:
    • Use MS Excel tools to convert received file formats into the correct system recognized format for loading into the GSRA system.
    • Modifying the GSRA system tables to make updates to such things as reporting geography, country aggregation rules and marketing group/marketing division relationships.
    • Perform data reconciliations within the data loading activities which also includes researching any data anomalies.
    • Create monthly/quarterly reports through both automated and manual processes. This requires intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills as well as knowledge of Cognos and the underlying GSRA system tables.
    • Maintain monthly and quarterly reporting schedules ensuring that reports are created on time and contain accurate data.
    • Ensure monthly/quarterly reports are properly audited for accuracy and obtain necessary approval prior to distribution.
    • Ensure global sales data and reports are maintained according to GM's retention policies.

    Note: Reporting activities require a knowledge of system processes and understanding of data management concepts. Users of the reports include: Executive Management, Finance (SEC Reporting), Public Relations, Business Planning, Forecasting, Global Regions/ Market Operations.

    This person will interface with Global, Regional and Market Operations on the collection and consolidation of the corporate and competitive data in those markets. Requires flexibility in working hours for meetings with other global entities to support and/or resolve sales reporting issues. They will also perform requirements gathering and analysis for sales reporting system enhancements and development.

    Other responsibilities may include:

    Conduct formal and informal training with users on the global sales data and adhoc reporting.

    Provide clear communications to the global user community regarding sales data and system availability.

    Facilitate meetings to resolve complex issues and promote consensus on process improvements and implementation plans.

    Critical Skills and Knowledge Requirements - Required

    Bachelor's Degree with systems and/or quantitative orientation.

    Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities.

    Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

    Ability to use IBM Cognos for extracting data.

    Above average skills in Microsoft suite of tools (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).

    Understanding of Data Management techniques and concepts.

    Ability to write user acceptance test cases and perform user acceptance testing for enhancements and development projects.

    Ability to multi-task on different projects while maintaining daily operational tasks.

    Ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple projects.

    Ability to work flexible hours, where required.

    Automotive market knowledge.

    Preferred:

    Knowledge or previous experience with IBM Cognos tools (Workspace Advanced).

    Previous sales reporting & analysis experience.

    Previous MS Excel VBA experience.

    This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Warren, MI 3 days per week.

    The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $80-85K/year. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
