    Department Information

    The Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education (SMGE) offers undergraduate programs in Middle Grades Education and Secondary Education as well as graduate programs (M.A.T., M.Ed., Ed.S., Ed.D.) in various middle and secondary area concentrations. Service courses are also offered to support secondary, elementary, and PK-12 programs. The department faculty are committed to the development of expertise in teaching and learning in collaboration with units across campus and local school districts. Our programs foster the development of knowledge, skills, and dispositions required of educators who design and implement integrated instructional programs for learners that are developmentally and culturally responsive.


    Job Summary

    Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Assistant Professor of Curriculum & Instruction (Science) faculty position in the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education that begins August 2024.


    Responsibilities
    • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Science Education and/or Curriculum & Instruction

    Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.


    Required Qualifications
    • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Science Education or Curriculum & Instruction with a Science emphasis, or a related field, is required.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience teaching or learning in an online environment
    • Willingness to teach in face-to-face, on-line or hybrid modalities
    • Record of past teaching in a middle grades or secondary classroom
