    JOB SUMMARY:

    While reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Director of Tax will assist with Federal and State tax compliance. This role will work closely with various members within and outside the tax department and may assist with cross-functional ad hoc projects as needed. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated with strong tax provision and compliance skills, international tax exposure, and can think and adapt quickly.

    HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT:

    • Direct all aspects of day-to-day tax function for all Quantix companies
    • Responsible for gathering data for US income tax return preparation for Federal C-Corp, Federal Partnership, and Multi-State returns including apportionment data, tax credits, nondeductible expense analysis, and review of RTP items.
    • Ensure timely compliance of Federal and Multi-State quarterly estimates and extensions.
    • Coordinate timely and accurate compliance with all international tax regulations and filing requirements, monitor international and intercompany transactions to ensure proper reporting and advise management on new and applicable legislation.
    • Assist with preparation of ASC 740 accounting for income tax including tax footnotes.
    • Manage all areas of indirect tax including but not limited to: Sales & Use, OH CAT, Personal Property, Fuel Tax, and Canadian GST/HST/QST.
    • Ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to integration of acquisitions.
    • Lead tax recovery efforts in areas such as fuel tax refunds, property tax abatements, economic development incentives, and fee in lieu agreements.
    • Directly responsible for the management of all Federal and State audits.
    • Process and respond to tax notices achieving resolutions.
    • Develop, analyze, and communicate tax planning guidance and implementation with management.
    • Provide timely training, coaching and performance feedback to staff.
    • Provide support for various tax projects as needed including researching tax code.
    • Assist with analysis of tax accounts and account reconciliations.
    • Review, as needed, tax records in fixed asset software database to comply with all Federal and State laws.
    Requirements

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years experience (Public Accounting a plus).
    • Logistics experience a plus
    • International tax experience a plus
    • Strong skill set in Microsoft applications (Heavy focus on Excel)
    • Ability to research complex tax issues.
    • Strong analytical thinker, problem solver, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
    • Self-motivated and able to work with little direction while under general supervision.
