This position is a working Lead Engineer-III and must have strong general knowledge of a hotel – casino facility.The Lead Engineer will communicate with the facility managers daily and make sure all engineers on that shift have assignments and all assignments are completed in a timely manner.
Lead engineer will communicate with managers from other departments and make sure all guest complaints or issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Strives to ensure guest and associate satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. Helps ensure long term asset protection and effectively leads the team to ensure strong productivity.

SKILLS/
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum 5-years working in the facilities department of a Hotel – Casino.
Experience in guiding employees
Working knowledge of Central Plant and HVAC systems
Knowledge of BMS systems (YAMAS) a plus
Knowledge of building trades; electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and general building practices
Knowledge of facility regulations and safety standards (OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA)
Maintain a safe work environment for all employees
Knowledge of life safety systems
Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect other departments.
Ability to effectively delegate work orders
Good communication skills (verbal, writing, and listening)
Strong organization skills
Ability to use standard software applications (word, excel, outlook) if needed
Knowledge of the hotel software HOT-SOS a plus.
Effective conflict management skills
Strong customer and associate relation skills
Material ordering, inventory control, supplies and equipment
REQUIRED CERTIFICATE/
LICENSE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have valid Nevada driver's license.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
Oversees the daily operations of engineers on duty.
Assists in overseeing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
Keeps equipment maintained and operating at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety.
Oversees distribution of repair work orders and monitors timeliness and quality of completion.
Assists in maintaining grounds; meeting rooms; ballrooms; public space; restaurants; hotel vehicles and recreational facilities.
Performs inspections effectively.
Helps ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
Has a working knowledge of all departments in the hotel and can act as technical liaison
Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures.
Assist with completing preventative maintenance programs.
Helps train associates in safety procedures and make sure of their ability to execute departmental and hotel emergency procedures, fire protection, safety and evacuation procedures.
Conducts training when appropriate.
Oversees performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position and reports progress to facility managers.
Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates and ensures associates do the same within the team.
Ensures associates are treated fairly and equitably. Constantly strives to improve associate retention. Brings issues to the attention of facility managers as necessary.
Ensures on-going communication is happening with all other departments.
Helps to manage the facilities' heat, light and power usage to minimize consumption and expenses and increase profitability.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Work is performed in the Hotel and Casino environment throughout the property including outdoors. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment typically allows smoking.
Interacts with management, fellow Associates and/or guests maintains professional relationships.
Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
Requires bending and reaching.
