    Fleet Maintenance Manager

    Kaiser Transport Inc. is looking for a hard-charging, highly motivated Fleet Maintenance Manager with strong leadership skills who is committed to winning. Kaiser Transport is a Long-Haul LTL open-deck trucking Company based out of Janesville, WI.

    Kaiser's fleet consists of 2022 or newer 389 Peterbilt's pulling Reitnouer Step-Deck and Double Drop trailers and operated by the most professional Company driver core in the nation.

    The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees the Fleet life cycle in alignment with Company objectives and reports directly to the Director of Operations. The span of control includes 120+ assets, 7 direct reports, and over 30 vendors.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Coordinate with drivers on scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs.

    Manage over-the-road breakdown calls.

    Create and manage nightly workflow.

    Manage fuel program.

    Responsible for the fleet maintenance software system.

    Control vendor relations around parts, warranties, and policies.

    Help create and manage department budgets through cost controls.

    Measure and manage fleet uptime through cross-departmental communication and interaction.

    Oversee personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.

    Direct supervision of up to 7 full-time employees.

    Oversee Fleet compliance supporting internal/external customers following: OSHA, Insurance, IFTA, DOT/CSA, Registration/Plates, Annual Over, Dimensional Permits, and Fleet Maintenance Certifications.

    Other duties as assigned by leadership.

    Qualifications

    1. High School Diploma or GED (Required)
    2. Associate or bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or similar field (Preferred)
    3. 4+ years of relevant work experience
    4. Proficient in MS Office applications and transportation software
    5. The understanding of cost per mile and cost per hour
    6. Strong purchasing, negotiation, and communication skills

    The Fleet Maintenance Manager is an exempt, salaried position that works up to 50 hours a week or more depending on business needs. This is currently a mid-shift/swing position, which could change according to business needs.
