    OBJECTIVE:


    Under general supervision of the Recreation Programmer and on sight guidance/supervision of the Head Lifeguards/Aquatic Supervisor, the Pool Cashier/Concessions Attendant is responsible for handling admission sales, cash handling procedures, food handling procedures, and providing general customer service.


    RELATIONSHIPS:

    Reports to:
    Head Guard/Aquatic Supervisor/Recreation Programmer

    Works with seasonal employees regularly and communicates with other Division employees, pool patrons, and the public.

    Individuals will work at both Rockport and Palmer Pools

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Answers the telephone and provides accurate information.
    • Sells food and beverages and follows proper cash handling procedures.
    • Sells and promotes daily and seasonal pool passes
    • Oversees cleanliness and sanitation of concession stand and concession area in accordance with Rock County Health Regulations.
    • Greets the public and provides excellent customer service.
    • Adheres to proper pool admission procedures.
    • Records successful deep-water pass candidates properly.
    • Adheres to proper food handling procedures.
    • Records attendance accurately and completes required paperwork.
    • Maintains proper use and clean-up of concession equipment
    • Plays a role in emergency care by calling for help if requested to do so.
    • Completes a nightly cash drawer reconciliation accounting for all transactions.
    • Reports any issues to the supervisor.
    • Attends and participates in all mandatory staff and facility trainings.

    OTHER DUTIES:

    • Stocks and cleans bathrooms, guard room, and pool area as needed.
    • Enforces facility policies.
    • Accurately completes all inventory/order forms.
    • Restocks product prior to completion of shift.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum education and experience required to perform essential duties of the position.


    Education, Certifications and Experience:

    • Must be 16 years of age or older.
    • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.
    • Experience working with a cash register or customer service preferred.

    Skill in:

    • Customer service and cash handling.

    Ability to:

    • Be motivated and dependable.
    • Follow city/department/division policies, work independently, and make sound decisions.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city employees, department professionals, staff, customers, and the public.
    • Communicate effectively and to follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Count back change to customers.
    • Work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Work with minimal supervision and within the boundaries of responsibility.
    • Always maintain a positive behavior and professional demeanor, address resident and customer concerns in a helpful, courteous manner.
    • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report all unsafe activities or conditions to supervisor.

    EQUIPMENT, INSTRUMENTS AND MACHINES:
    Equipment used includes a cash register, microwave, nacho/pretzel warmer, sno cone machine, slushie machine, fridge, and freezer.


    PHYSICAL FACTORS:


    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


    • Work will take place in an outdoor environment and varying types of weather, including possibility of high heat and humidity.
    • Working conditions involve occasional exposure to dirt, dust, and moisture.
    • Perform basic activities, which may include, but not limited to: lifting, stooping, semi-reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, turning, and lying on stomach and/or back.
    • Must be able to sit or stand and move for long periods of time.
    • See and observe all sections of an assigned area of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
