    Job Description Job DescriptionJob Title Senior Commercial UnderwriterDepartment Loan AdministrationReports To CREDIT MANAGERFLSA Status EXEMPTJob SummaryUnderwrite and communicate loan requests consistent with safe and sound bank credit practices.

    Provide an exemplary level of client service on all relationships, whether in a primary or support role. Assist Credit Manager and Credit executives in the preparation of internal reports as assigned.

    Duties and Responsibilitieso Develop needs list for loan requests and communicate to Relationship Manager or borrower as appropriate.o Receive and analyze information and prepare Credit Memorandum or assist Relationship Manager as needed.

    Underwriting duties will include spreading of financial statements and/or tax returns, borrower and global cash flow analysis, collateral analysis, and identifying key risks and mitigating factors.

    Underwriting for both new originations and renewals will be primarily comprised of the following loan types:

    commercial real estate loans, commercial and industrial loans to operating companies, unsecured and other specialized loans to high net worth individuals.o Submit Credit Memorandums to loan approvers and provide support to loan processors as needed to close approved loans.

    BSA/AML/Compliance ResponsibilitiesThis position includes direct or indirect interaction with customers and other employees and therefore includes responsibilities relating to BSA/AML.

    The employee will have opportunity to examine and view information and documents produced by other employees of the Bank relating to BSA and therefore has the obligation to report suspicious activity to the BSA Officer as appropriate.

    The employee is responsible for understanding and following the Banks BSA/AML policies including elevating suspicious activity to the BSA Officer.

    Additionally, the employee is required to understand and follow the Banks compliance program.
    Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or related field. At least five years commercial loan underwriting, loan portfolio management or equivalent at a commercial bank or thrift.

    Comprehensive knowledge of banking procedures, lending and practices to include regulatory rules and guidelines affecting Bank lending operations, commercial lending and real estate lending.

    Skills Needed Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills. Ability to work under pressure on time sensitive assignments. Skilled at underwriting complex loan structures and adept at interacting with sophisticated borrowers. Proficient PC skills to include spreadsheet, word-processing, database systems and other software utilized by the department. Strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills. Ability to coordinate and work collaboratively with internal and external contacts on a daily basis.
