Description

Performs operation and maintenance (O&M) engineering involving maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of electrical circuits, equipment, and systems to infrastructure facilities, including utility systems, at a large and complex military installation utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering.

Manages the O&M plans and programs for mission essential electrical generation and distribution systems throughout the installation. Uses experience and originality to determine where major failure problems or instabilities exist and how to correct them.

Redesigns systems, or any part of a system, as necessary; prescribes changes in materials and practices used; and develops new calibration procedures.

Serves as a team leader on major electrical projects, reviewing and assigning technical projects/tasks to team members. Performs preliminary electrical engineering analyses on large and complicated projects.

Through surveys, research, and investigations determines what needs to be done to ensure systems and facilities meet current and future mission requirements; improve reliability, flexibility, and maintainability; and lower energy consumption.

Develops preliminary planning designs to include descriptions of scope of work, quantitative criteria, detailed cost estimates, and time schedules as needed.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of operations and maintenance experience
