Description

GEICO Technology Solutions is looking for a Java and J2EE developer to join the team and help develop and support claims applications in a fast paced and high energy environment. The person in this role will support current Claims Applications and participate in exciting projects involving large scale client server applications.

The candidate must also be process and results oriented. As a Developer, the candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with other teams such as Infrastructure, Architecture, Release Management, Configuration Management, Application Security, and the Business to develop and deliver critical solutions for GEICO

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent Technical Skills in Java and J2EE with at least 5 years of development experience.
• Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST), Apache Camel, Spring Framework and Hibernate
• Experience with Testing Framework tools such as SOAPUI and JUnit.
• Experience troubleshooting applications and provide support for issue resolution.
• Experience with MQ messaging.
• Strong testing, debugging, and triage skills
• Knowledge of open-source frameworks
• Good Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Good Understanding of Agile Development Methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analysis and design skills and troubleshooting skills in object-oriented technologies

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or an equivalent field of study
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Splunk, SonarQube, Veracode, or similar tools
• Familiar with MuleSoft framework for developing integration services
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
• Experience with designing application using Visio or similar tools
• Knowledge with applications servers like JBOSS
• Proficient with heap/thread dump analysis
• Familiarity with cloud technology and Infrastructure
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
