    If you are interested in the trucking industry and have a safe driving record, but are not quite ready to buy a tractor, Christenson can provide you with a truck and get you on the road with benefits and competitive pay.

    Our OTR fleet is our largest and primary fleet. This fleet travels across the US.
    Compensation

    Average Annual Pay:
    $78,000

    Average Weekly Pay:
    $1,500 Starting Base Pay – 54 CPM
    Average of 2,800 miles a week
    The driver may elect to have 11 CPM paid as per diem.

    Additional Pay:
    Additional .01 per mile for every million miles at Christenson Transportation
    Orientation/Transition Pay of $ Paid on the first check)
    Extra Pick-up or drop pay of $25.00 per Additional Pick-up or Drop Excludes first pick-up and first drop.

    Layover Pay of $100.00 Per Night If not assigned a load by 5 pm the day after unloading.


    Detention Paid at $20.00 per hour Begins 2 hours after correctly reporting on-time arrival for an appointment, not to exceed $100 daily.

    For FCFS pick-ups & deliveries, detention will begin 2 hours after correctly reporting arrival at a rate of $10.00 per hour, not to exceed $50 daily.

    Breakdown Pay at $50.00 for the first day, $100.00 for the second day, and $150.00 for 3rd day

    Bonuses:

    Referral Bonus:
    of $500.00 & name entered into the drawing to win $4,000.00 after every 5 referrals hired. $500.00 paid in 2 payments. The first is $250.00 after delivery of the referral's load. The second $250.00 is at the time of the $4,000.00 drawing.

    Stay Pay" Longevity Bonus:
    Completion of year 1 – Receive $1,000, paid out $250 quarterly & beginning on the yearly anniversary.
    Completion of year 2 – Receive $2,000, paid out $500 quarterly & beginning on the yearly anniversary.
    Completion of year 3 – Receive $3,000, paid out $750 quarterly & beginning on the yearly anniversary.
    Completion of year 4 – Receive $4,000, paid out $1,000 quarterly & beginning on the yearly anniversary.
    Completion of year 5 & above – Receive $5,000, paid out $1,250 quarterly & beginning on yearly anniversary.

    Paid weekly on the miles for that pay week.
    Benefits & Perks

    Excellent Health/Dental/Vision insurance beginning the first Monday of the month after 60 days of employment Choose from 2 health plans.

    Christenson pays 75% of employee cost silver plan, dental, and vision. An employeecan upgrade to gold plan at the additional cost to the employee.
    Employee can elect to cover family members at the full cost.

    401K Program: 50% match up to 6% of employee contribution
    Pre-paid driver

    Legal Plan:
    Provided by Christenson for every driver at no cost.
    Paid vacation paid at $1,000 per week 1 week of vacation available yearly on employment date. Cannot be rolled over.
    This is in addition to the Christenson Transportation 'Stay Pay" referenced above.

    Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Life insurance has $20,000 value and $40,000 if caused by accident. Additional details in policy brochure.

    Hour Driver Lounge:

    You will have access to our Driver Lounge that includes showers, a washer and driver, transflo machine, cable TV, a comfy couch, a computer with Internet, and a treadmill.


    Onboard Pets:
    You can bring your best friend on the road with you There are limits, however. Your furry friend can be up to medium-dog sized and must have shot records submitted. It also requires a deposit that you can pay over time.

    Passengers:

    You can bring your best human too Your passenger must be over 13 years old with a signed form – we'll cover their insurance.

    Orientation takes place at our headquarters in Strafford, MO.

    It lasts 2-3 days and includes meeting your fleet manager and other staff, choosing your truck, signing any necessary paperwork, learning about safety, maintenance and operations policies, and getting the things you need to get on the road.

    Home Time, Route, & Schedule
    2-3 weeks out with 2-3 days home depending on where you live. Possible weekly home time if you live closer to the hiring radiuses listed below

    Qualifications
    Must be at least 21 years of age
    Must have CDL A license
    Must have a minimum of 2-years verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience within the last 3 years
    Must have a valid DOT physical
    Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen
    Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in accordance with FMCSR
    Stable job history for past 3 years

    No convictions for a "serious or disqualifying traffic violation" within the last 3 years including: Excessive speeding of 15 mph or more over the posted limit.

    Reckless driving
    Improper or erratic lane changes
    Following to close
    Hit and run, failure to report, and accident


    No more than 3 moving violations in the past 36 months, and no more than 2 in the previous 12 months.

    No suspension/ revocations in the past 12 months
    No DUI or DWI convictions within the past 5 years
    No positive or refused drug tests within the past 5 years
    No "preventable" DOT reportable accidents in the past 3 years

    No DOT accidents listed below:
    Rollover
    Lane change
    Sideswipes
    Jack-knife
    Rear-end

    No more than 3 preventable "minor" accidents/ incidents in the past 3 years
    No misuse of company equipment or funds.
