    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Development to lead our utility-scale battery storage projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in renewable energy, extensive experience with NYISO and ISO-NE markets, and a robust client base.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Project Leadership: Lead the development of utility-scale solar or battery storage projects from inception through construction and operation, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market analysis for NYISO and ISO-NE regions, identifying opportunities and potential challenges.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for project development, including site selection, feasibility studies, permitting, and financing.
    • Client Relationship Management: Maintain and expand a strong client base, fostering long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, regulators, and investors.
    • Team Management: Oversee and mentor a team of development professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve project milestones.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant federal, state, and local regulations, particularly those pertaining to NYISO and ISO-NE markets.
    • Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, financial models, and funding strategies, ensuring financial viability and return on investment.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with local communities, government agencies, and industry groups to advocate for and promote the benefits of battery storage projects.
    • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, market developments, and strategic initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on utility-scale battery storage.
    • Market Expertise: Deep understanding of NYISO and ISO-NE markets, including regulatory frameworks, market dynamics, and stakeholder interactions.
    • Client Base: Established and extensive network of clients and stakeholders within the renewable energy sector.
    • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and driving project success.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
    • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
