    A number of our clients across TOP 50 and TOP 100 CPA firms in New Jersey, New York, Long Island, Connecticut, Boston, Rhode Island and Florida.


    The Tax Manager or Tax Director will oversee tax planning and compliance activities for ultra-high net worth individuals and their families, with a primary focus on financial service clients such as hedge funds, private equity firms, and other investment entities.


    Responsibilities:
    Interacting closely with clients to deliver innovative tax planning strategies and solutions.
    Conducting primary review of complex tax returns and maintaining ongoing client communication.
    Cultivating and nurturing relationships with clients, staff, and external third-party vendors.
    Providing tax planning, preparation, and research for high-net-worth individuals and business entities, including hedge funds. This includes expertise in handling hedge-fund K-1s, trusts, estates, gifts, and charitable entities.
    Reviewing tax returns and work papers prepared by staff members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    Training and supervising staff, and conducting performance evaluations.

    Staying updated on legislative and tax policy changes at both Federal and State levels to ensure compliance and inform strategic tax planning decisions.

    Qualifications

    Active CPA license or EA certification is necessary.
    Additional qualifications such as a J.D., LL.M., or relevant certifications in specialized areas are beneficial.
    At least six years of progressive experience in public accounting or related fields is required.
    Strong proficiency in accounting and analytics is essential.
    Robust expertise in various tax areas, including Compliance, Individual, Partnership, Trust, Estate, Gift, Research & Planning, is expected.
    Familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred.
    Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required for effective client interactions.
    Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, including team supervision, fostering trust, encouraging innovation, and providing constructive feedback, is vital.
    Understanding of the risks associated with technical tax positions and the ability to articulate these to partners is important.
