    SUMMARY:


    As a valuable member of the Maintenance Team, a Maintenance Tech SMICE will assist in assuring smooth operation of all SMICE building systems.

    Duties will include a direct role in equipment / building system monitoring, preventive maintenance, and repair, as well as safely guiding other team members in PM s and operational procedures of equipment.

    Shifts, starting times and workdays will always be determined by production scheduling and coordinated by maintenance supervision to provide adequate coverage of all affected areas.

    Good attendance and must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBLITIES:
    Equipment InspectionAble to identify parts wear and potential equipment failure through routine inspection.
    Able to identify equipment issues that could potentially be an employee hazard.
    Maintenance DutiesPerform preventive/predictive maintenance tasks as scheduled and/or assigned.
    Maintain operational ability and integrity of equipment.

    Operate EquipmentAble to safely start, operate, and shutdown all equipment within SMICE, including ammonia refrigeration system, SIS Freezer, VFFS machines, Robotics and conveyors.

    Able to use computer for equipment operational analysis where necessary.
    Able to safely operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
    Able to safely operate various hand tools, power tools, large shop tools, and test instruments such as Voltage Meter.

    Maintain all required company & departmental records and documentsDaily notes recorded in One-NotePM assignments/work ordersDaily Refrigeration logsBasic Maintenance RequirementsBasic Plumbing identification and repair (Water Closet, sinks, fittings, Pipe threading, Etc.)Inspection of Facility safety devices (Fire Extinguisher, Eye wash station, Etc.)Maintain building and grounds (light bulbs, air filters, doors, oil changes, cleaning, etc.)Repair/replace bearings, conveyor belts, pneumatic hoses, etc.

    Process equipment assemblyElectrical identification and repair (Plug, Relay, VFD, Etc.)Motor/Gearbox identification and repairSchematic and pneumatic readingWelding and fabricationSound understanding of safety relays and circuitsTesting of electrical devices (Motor, Brakes, Etc.)Building systems identification and operations and repairs (Boilers, Air Compressors, HVAC, Refrigeration, Etc.)Equipment Overhauls (Complete rebuilds of Electrical and Mechanical Systems)Advanced Refrigeration Training (Intro to Ammonia, Operator 1, Etc.)Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting (HMI, PLC, I-O Modules, Etc.)Design/Installation of Automated SystemsFire Alarm and Life Safety SystemsMiscellaneous ResponsibilitiesKeep work area clean and free of clutter and debris.

    Follow all safety guidelines.
    Keep tools cleaned, maintained and kept.

    Employee SafetyMaintenance personnel shall have a thorough understanding of Standard Meat Company s Maintenance Program, Safety programs and all Company policies and follow accordingly.

    Appropriate personal protective equipment must be used at all times.
    Under no circumstances shall any equipment safety devices be bypassed at any time.

    Job assignments shall be made and coordinated by the Maintenance Engineer- either verbal, written memo or listed on the weekly maintenance task list.

    Normal work environment is relatively moderate with temperature ranging from 50
    80 F on the production floor. Storage freezer is maintained at 0 F and may require brief entry for routine maintenance duties. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
    Maintenance mechanics will not work on any equipment or building systems they have not been trained on.

    It is the responsibility of members of the maintenance team to ask for assistance and/or training on any tasks they are not qualified to perform.


    Duties:
    Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing and replacing equipment, fixtures, and systemsConduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulationsRespond to maintenance requests from tenants or staff in a timely mannerTroubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systemsFabricate or repair parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipmentMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

    Coordinate and supervise outside contractors for larger repair projectsAssist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programsSkills:

    Strong customer service skills to interact with tenants and address their maintenance needsProficiency in using CMMS software to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance historyLeadership abilities to supervise and coordinate the work of other maintenance staffKnowledge of various trades such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc.
