    Job Description Job Description Position SummaryThe Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of all engineering systems within the hotel, food & beverage, and events, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems.

    In addition, the Chief Engineer will manage a team of engineering staff to ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of the hotel.

    This role is crucial for ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to regulatory standards, while following 6PM Hospitality Partners, LLC and Hilton standards.


    Essential Function:


    Maintenance ManagementDevelop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure all engineering systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Conduct regular inspections of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, food & beverage, and banquet facilities, to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.

    Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
    Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and warranties in Quore.

    Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper operation and preventative maintenance of componentsEnsure every piece of refrigeration equipment has routine preventative maintenance and condenser cleaning performed and documented in Quore.

    Team ManagementRecruit train, and supervise a team of engineering staff, including engineers, technicians, and maintenance workers.
    Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring that all staff members understand their roles and perform their duties efficiently.
    Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and training to improve staff performance and productivity.
    Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
    Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests.
    Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices to reduce utility costs and minimize the hotel's environmental footprint.
    Monitor the progress of projects, resolve any issues or delays, and ensure that quality standards and deadlines are met.

    Communicate regularly with senior management and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, budget variances, and potential risksUse Quore to keep a record of all maintenance issues, with up-to-date documentation on the corrective action being taken for the necessary repair.

    Monitor and review that all completed preventative maintenance is done to 6PM Hospitality Partners LLC and Hilton standardsSchedule all maintenance technicians according to business demands and needs according to budget.

    Ensure all maintenance shifts are covered, including call-ins and vacations.

    Responsible for call-ins requested by management for repairs that affect the efficiency of the building and/or guests after hoursSafety and ComplianceControl the security of the property by maintaining master keys, and making sure all equipment is functioning properly (i.e., security cameras, door locks, etc.)Assist in checking fire protection systems for proper operation and training personnel in their use.

    Complete monthly fire extinguisher audit.

    Update and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as often as neededEnsure that all copies of items that need to be on file at all times, such as boiler records and certificates, elevator certificates, etc.

    are on file and recorded in Quore.
    Stay updated on relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to engineering and facility management.
    Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards or compliance issues.
    Collaborate with other department heads and management to address any safety or compliance concerns promptly.

    Budget and Cost ControlCoordinate any necessary third-party inspections (backflow preventers, fire suppression, boiler, etc)Develop and manage the departmental budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

    Evaluate proposals for equipment purchases, maintenance contracts, and capital improvement projects to ensure alignment with budgetary goals and operational needs.

    Project ManagementCoordinate facility repairs between all staff members (front desk, laundry, kitchen, etc.), as well as ensuring guest requests and comfort are first priorityCoordinate necessary contracted work with outside contractors for any repairs that cannot first be taken care of by the Chief Engineer or Maintenance team within 6PM Hospitality Partners LLC.

    Always contact the Sr. VP of Development and Facilities to check if larger project can be handled internally. Approval of hiring outside contractors must be gained by the General Manager or VP of Development and Facilities.

    A minimum of 8+ years job-related experience.
    Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems.
    Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
    Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform building repair/upkeep functions.
    Requires typing, record keeping, or word processing.
    Good communication skills.

    Work Schedule:
    Work regularly requires daytime assignments but includes evenings, holidays, and weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs.
