- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct speech and language screenings under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Assist in the collection of relevant data for the development of individualized treatment plans.
- Direct Therapy:
- Implement speech and language interventions as outlined in treatment plans.
- Provide individual or group therapy sessions to students, focusing on improving communication skills.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Speech-Language Pathologists, teachers, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom setting.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and home-based activities.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including session notes and data collection.
- Assist in preparing reports for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other necessary documentation.
- Professional Development:
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
